Got it in, all went well and it started and ran fine, after warming it about 3 minutes I was farting around with my timing light that didn't seem to work and noticed oil gushing out from under the oil cooler... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I SHOULD HAVE CHANGED THOSE SEALS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Had all that tin off................ I SHOULD HAVE CHANGED THOSE SEALS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So that wasn't oil spritzing from the breather... I now believe that they were starting to leak and wiggling it a bit when I pulled the tin finished them off. 45 minutes later I had the tin up again and the cooler off, they were pretty hard in the middle and even some on the edges, so they really did need to be changed, They were the original ones with this motor at 101K. I SHOULD HAVE CHANGED THOSE SEALS Im really not that peeved though, as I was right there when they went and they did suddenly gush, and the cooler was NOT loose. They didn't wait till the Nevada desert to let go... and when I pulled up the fuel line that runs across the engine I found it was all cracked on the bottom (engine facing) side! So Im glad I found that too... that line is only 8 years old so Im crossing off Gates fuel line from the list of manufacturers that I can get 10 years out of their fuel line. Im replacing it all next summer when the new engine goes in but for now only the section that sits on the hot engine. So I wait a couple more days to try out the new tranny, but the new clutch arm with the extra leverage really makes for a silk smooth and easy to operate clutch pedal. I CANT BELIEVE I DIDN'T CHANGE THOSE SEALS!!!
