I also added some 14 gauge engineered angles to the inside of the rocker. This added quite a bit of strengthening to mine. It's strong enough that I can put my floor jack under one side of the front beam, and raise it 18 + inches off the ground (puts the car into a pretty good twist) and the doors open and close perfectly smooth, and the door gaps don't change. A lot of it is in how it's set up, and fabricated. You could also use 1/4" plate (4" wide) and weld it to the inside of the rocker too, but you have to be careful about loosing space along side the seat. There was a discussion about this last month on the Samba (in the t-3 forum), so you might want to check that series of posts out. Bob 65 Notch S w/ Sunroof and IRS (Krusty) 71 Square, now a 2 seat Roadster, pics can be seen at; http://volksrods.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2977 and now has a dead T-3 with D-jet FI engine. : ( ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
