<x-flowed>From what little I know, I believe on the bug, the floorpan is reinforced.
That is one of my concerns. How do they do it with VW bug convertibles I wonder?
There is a picture of a fastback convertible in the gallary at the Samba and I do see he has put some support bracying between the door frames about six inches up from the floor. I'd probably be triping over that every time I got in and out of the car.
I used to own a 72 Camero and wanted to put a T-top in until I was warned about no center bracing in the roof of that type model. One does have to be very careful.

With the "backbone" of the body gone, how do you restore body/frame rigidity, as in maintaining the door to body gap?so
