Well, I'm going to post it here first. Due to circumstances beyond my
control, we're not going to be able to attend the Invasion. Between both our jobs,
our work loads have increased, and we've both been told we're only allowed to
take 1 week (instead of the 2 we both requested). My company (the one I work
for) just got 2 new large customers, and one of our old customers (KUKA) just
requested a BIG order, that's going to cause us to add employees, and force us
into over time. My wife's company is running short handed (they've got a very
good turn over on empoyees), and they need her there. My son decided he's not
moving west, and now he's trying to find a job that he's qualified at
doing.Since he doesn't have the cash, he's not going either.
On a positive note, I'd just got the NEW engine in the Notch, so it was just
lacking the CD player install for the road trip. Everything else on the car
was ready to go, and I figured I'd be doing it's 3rd oil change at Russ's place
on the way out there (the 2nd one would be at 200 miles (easily able to do
before leaving), since I've already done the break in oil change). Looks like
those plans are going to change now too. :( I decided to go with an all new
engine after the Roadster's engine blew up. Call me gun shy, but I'm just nervous
about the old one to put that many miles on it. And with it making sounds that
aren't to comforting (especially if you don't know what's causing it) I just
didn't want to get 1/2 way out there, only to have a terminal failure in the
middle of nowhere.
Jim, I'm going to try and mail out that box I was supposed to give along the
way. I'm sure your wife will just put it off to the side for you when you get
back, if you don't get it before you leave. Thanks.
