I think your use of the term "short links" here is confusing people. Take a look at one of your carbs. You'll see that there is a short connecting rod that runs somewhat vertically from top to bottom on each carb. When you say "short links" most people here think you're referring to these rods. These are in addition to the long rods which connect each carb to the center mounted bell crank. The little ends on each rod are just called rod ends.
