If any water can get behind the seal up at the top, the pressure head it gets when it reaches the bottom corner can force it round the glass - there are thin clear sealing liquids that find small gaps and come in a plastic bottle with nozzle to get it under the rubber lip, both by the bodywork and by the glass. Not sure if you can get it in the USA - but worth looking for. Dave.
