The model year (MY) starts in ~sept, so the end of '67 would have been a MY 68. Production of ATs with dual carbs began sometime in mid MY 68. At any rate, the only thing that counts here is the VIN, which you can find in at least 2 places. On your car it will look something like 3x8nnnnnn, where 3 stands for type 3, x is a number designating the body style, 8 is the last digit of the MY, and nnnnnn is the sequence number in that year's production. Look for your VIN on top of the tunnel under the back seat and on a silver plate in the trunk. The numbers should match. If you still have questions, post your VIN here and we can tell you what it means. > also, somebody suggested that if it has a fuel filler "flap" it may be original? > is that the flip up fuel cap cover on the fender? Yes, and MY 68 was the first year to get that flap. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
