There is some room in there, but I'm not sure there's enough. I do know the AC was a cause for many t-3's to die. My old 70 Square was a victim of this, and I was able to buy it cheap due to a blown motor caused by the AC. Keith, you wouldn't believe how easy the t-4 engine fits into the t-3 engine bay. :O I've been working on connecting the FI parts on mine. The engine is in, got the fuel lines piped, got the electrical connected, just trying to work out why my front fuel pump relay doesn't want to click and run the pump. I think I've got a bad ECU, but I've got no way to test it. The Bentley doesn't go into the ECU, but I was able to check all the wires from the main plug to their ends. With the system I used (for an early 71), it follows the t-3 Bentley wire for wire. This actually went easier than I thought it would, and I'm a carb guy. : ) Sorry if I started to hijack this thread by going off on a tangent. Bob 65 Notch S w/ Sunroof and IRS 71 Square, now a 2 seat Roadster, pics can be seen at; http://volksrods.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2977 and now has a 2.0L t-4 with D-jet FI engine transplant, just finishing up the details. : ) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
