Is there a chocolate factory in Winnemucca?  :-)

Looks like Reno is pretty far out of the way and I think we want to get in
for the BBQ on Thursday so it looks like the SLC to Lakeview run is the way
to go, sure hope there isn't more than 200 miles or so between Gas stops in
NV!

Thanks Hal, it's a huge help hearing from someone who has actually be out
that route!

There's a whole lot of Jack Squat for accommodations between Lakeview 
OR and Winnemucca, NV, unless you like camping in the desert. :-)    
The only real options I can think of are Winnemucca (where you'd turn 
off I-80 and head towards Lakeview anyway) or Reno.  Winnemucca would 
give you a short Wednesday and a long Thursday, Reno would give you two 
days with roughly equal driving times.   Reno would also require 
changes to the route you've already mapped.

I played with distances & times for those two alternatives.

SLC -> Reno 517 miles, 8;58
Reno -> Roseburg  401 miles, 8:47 (default driving directions route)
Reno -> Roseburg  425 miles, 10:11 (via Klamath Falls)

SLC -> Winnemucca  353 miles, 6:18
Winnemucca -> Roseburg  562 miles, 11:23 (default driving directions 
route)
Winnemucca -> Roseburg  478 miles, 11:50 (via Klamath Falls)
