I had thought the trigger points merely were timing signals to the ECU
on WHEN to fire, but not how LONG to fire. Duration I thought was
governed by a number of factors, primarily the pressure and temp
sensors. That said, if that bank's trigger point is out of whack and
were gummy and lingered (how this circumstance would arise, not sure),
the ramifcations may or may not be interesting. Another thought- what if
the trigger points were ok, but one side was making an intermittent
contact? This wouldn't even have to be the points, but rather the
circuit from the connector to the ECU. Wouldn't this result in extra
firing of the injectors on that bank (changing frequency rather than
duration).

The only reason I'm thinking trigger points is because it's one thing
thats common to injector pairs and it's a mechanical part thats subject
to wear and stress. Not that anyone has something like this, but it
would be interesting to hook up an oscilliscope to the trigger point
pairs while running to see what the waveform looks for one side versus
the other in this case. Is there another way this could be tested?
