Like Russ said, they're both (the fuel pump relay under the dash and the main FI power relay under the back seat) the same. > > By the way, can I leave the relay for the cold start injector out of the > > system, or do I need to hook it up, but leave the plug off the injector? On the later systems I've never seen a CSV CAUSE a problem, but I HAVE seen misunderstandings and misassembly cause CSV problems. The late CSV system is quite simple and really doesn't cause any trouble if it is hooked up right. Kind of like blaming the coil if you connect it with the polarity wrong. We've also seen a lot of people express concern that their CSV is causing problems, but I think those problems always turn out to be something else (like the worn out voltage regulator problem, which makes the engine run rich.) OTOH, I'm not sure that the CSV system actually serves any useful purpose. Most of our cars seem to work just fine with them disabled. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
