Yes, it's kind of like a box spring, but it's pretty firmly attached to the seat frame, so it might be easier to just replace the whole seat bottom. IIRC, the attachment is via bent metal tabs, which can break off if you bend them too many times, so replacing the whole bottom half may well be the more prudent choice also.


Does the whole seat bottom include the black structure that is visible when the seats are installed?
If so, wouldn't that make finding a replacement seat bottom with good springs difficult?
