I had this happen on my Notch 3 days before the 2004 Type 3 Invasion. On
mine, it turned out to be a coil going bad. The car had been running great the day
before, then I gave a buddy a ride over to the house (I was visiting a
friend), and upon leaving it started to stumble a little. My first thought was a
fuel pump starting to act up, but that wasn't it. Then I thought, well maybe it's
a bad carb, so I tore both of them down, even swapped them with another set,
didn't fix it. I even swapped the dizzy, still no change. In the mean time, I
had ran the valves to eliminate a possible tight one. The only thing that I
hadn't swapped yet was the coil. I installed a used black one that I had on the
other car, and my problem cleared right up. This was the night before leaving
on a 1200+ mile road trip. Went to the Invasion, and returned without any
issues. Just something to think about, especially if you've got a blue coil. :O
