Precise carb balance is really important, of course, but it doesn't 
change substantially from one day to another. If the problem is 
consistent and only happens during acceleration from a stop, I'd be 
looking first for something physical and simple interfering with the 
linkage, then I'd have a look in the carb throat to check whether I'd 
dropped a power tube.

If that's not it, you'll want to do some careful testing to determine 
the exact conditions and symptoms, and whether it's a lean or rich 
condition.

Also, if it's happening on the road but not while stopped, you've got 
some quite different factors to consider.
