Bob, 
I wanted to have a fuel a fuel filter that you could see the condition of
the filter element,
that is to see if any contamination is coming from the tank / return lines.
Unfortunately the
original square style filters are usualy made of black or opaic white
plastic. I searched around,
and finally found these clear filters with the input fuel / dirty side on
the outside of the filter.
Defeinitly not stock, but great for mainteance and testing. If there is any
interest I will get a 
part number for you, I think I bought a couple.
