I'm looking for side mirrors for my '72 square. My current understanding is that there were two styles, early and late. So, I just need to find any of the larger square-ish mirrors, to get the right ones. Is that correct?
There are probably more than 2 eras, plus there are right side and left side
for both RHD and LHD.
Currently on the car I have been using the early oval-ish ones. , which not only look funny to me on the later styling., they're harder to use. :)
Those early ones are even harder to find, and more valuable, than the later
ones which would be correct for your '72.
This cip1 mirror seems to imply that there was only one style of Type3 mirror:
http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=C38%2DT3%2D028
ie, it says it's for 62 - 74, and that it's the only thing out there true to the original form.
Is that true? I think I'm still going to go with bug mirrors, for size/price. but I'm still curious as to what the mirror styles were
