I snagged a copy off Ebay and found it helpful only to identify parts (something that many list members here could do for you as well). I scanned in a consumer parts book that has all the exploded diagrams, and several other websites have either appropriated these or I have given good scans to them, so that resource is out there as well for this purpose. I am in the process of scanning in the official parts book with part numbers and everything, and will make that available online soon. The problem with the parts CD is that it has late-model watercooled cars on it as well. VW has gone after the enthusiast sites before, but they seem to turn a blind eye to most of us who make the "obsolete" aircooled parts manuals and other information available online. I think they'd object to having the watercooled stuff posted. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
