I'm not so sure on this. I think it is closer to .5 L than to 1 L, so something 
like .6 qt.

BTW, just to verify: The type 3 dipstick is unique in that it is spring loaded. 
You push it down far enough that the spring loaded end bottoms out so that the 
level marks are a known distance above the "bottom." Is your spring working? 

The dipsticks occasionally get bent and stick, which leads to misreadings for 
new owners who aren't familiar with them.
