My take on this is the *attitude* of the people in said categories.
Notice that he prefaced his statement with "I've also heard...". Thus
there is a distinction between those who will use a term to differentiate
between models for a clearer understanding and those who are more of the
"die hard" types who have strong opinions of what models they prefer.
