I remember wiring around this when I did my car, and while I know it was 
modified by the dealer in Germany for US use (MPH speedo, for example), 
it was not a US-spec car.

In looking over the diagrams, I wonder if this wiring difference goes 
along with sealed beams rather than a country spec. Chris wrote to me 
privately that he wasn't aware of dual-filament markers on 34s, which I 
definitely have. Is it that bulb headlights have markers in the 
headlights, and sealed-beam setups came with dual-filament 
marker/indicators?
