Per gallon, there's less energy content in ethanol, but maybe you can pump more of it into the combustion chamber than you can get away with using gasoline. Gasoline used to be used at Indy, but it was outlawed because of the fire hazard. ISTR that it was brought back for a very few years in the '60s but was then outlawed after another big crash. It's often been said that if someone tried to introduce gasoline as a new product on the marketplace today, it would never get approval for sale to the public. It's just too dangerous. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
