I might give him 2000.00 for it. Basically it's a shell with air shocks on it. Definitely is Banished to the "dark side" for ever. A lot of money would be needed to put this into good shape. -----Original Message----- From: Jim Adney [mailto:jadney@vwtype3.org] Sent: Tuesday, September 20, 2005 7:13 PM To: type3@vwtype3.org Subject: Re: [T3] if you had an air ride? The car has basically been trashed in the name of spiffing it up. Whatever you wanted to do with it would now, whether darkside or lightside, be a truly major project. How much faith would you have in a car where the owner spent all of his time chroming various invisible suspension parts? He says that replacing the ball joints got it up off the ground. This means that the ball joints are running against the limits of their internal travel, so you would have to readjust the suspension first thing, just to keep it from damaging its ball joints again. What year is it? He doesn't say. It would certainly be nice if someone was willing to step forward and save this car, but I'm afraid Steven is right. It's probably only good for parts.
