I re-read your post and noticed that you weren't sure about where this washer 
came from. While there should certainly be such washers under the trigger 
points, there should also be one of them under each centrifugal weight in the 
mech. advance above the trigger points. These, unlike the trigger point 
washers, are commonly broken. I replace them with nylon washers.
