Performance will be about the same, depending on the distributor and such. MPG will be about the same, maybe a little less with the carbs, as the drivers habits effect MPG more with carbs. Emissions, will be a little higher with carbs than with FI. That was one of VW's reasons for going to the FI set up in the first place. Noise,??? With the air cleaner in place, the noise levels should not be any different. -- Russ Wolfe '71 FB AT '66 FB MT '64 T34 (not running) '65 T1 (not running) '05 KIA Sorento SUV russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
