Actually they recently did some studies-and determined that smaller cars actually are safer-in general. They are easier to maneuver and are much less likely to get in an accident. On the other hand, a lot of the SUV's made today-are manufactured on track platforms, and do not need to meet the same safety requirements of a "car". -Kevin -----Original Message----- From: Steven Ayres [mailto:comwest@att.net] Subject: Re: [T3] Cars only a mother could love ;-) StevenC=> On your streets with Chevrolet Suburbans? Suicide. Bigger is safer, eeh? Yeah, you go head-to-head with a Lincoln SUV at 45 mph, you're in trouble, but it doesn't much matter what size car you're driving. And I rather doubt the same blanket statement would be seen as sensible applied to motorcycles and bikes. It's not the size of the car, it's your skill and attention as a driver, plus dumb luck. I'll tell you one thing though: *no one* fails to notice my 600 on the street.
