It's really hard to tell, but IF this is a '68 case AND cooler, then I don't 
think this is done right.

The '68 case would be a single oil pressure relief case. The '68 cooler has no 
part # stamped on top next to the oil pressure switch. If these describe your 
parts, then you should have a gap of more than 1/8" between the case and 
cooler.
