And, being a complete engine, (BTW, the damper pipe and tail pipe should be in the crate), it was REBUILT in germany. Even if it is a new case, the crank, pistons/cylinder, heads, rods, whatever could or would be reconditioned. With the double arrows circle, that is a REBUILT..... I personally, wouldn't want a factory rebuilt engine. Mostly, they can never be rebuilt a second time, because of the things they did to them to salvage and reuse parts. Some of the later long blocks were rebuilt in Canada, but the complete engines were all done in DE. It was proper for them to have the FI harness with them. They were run at the factory before they were crated. -- Russ Wolfe '71 FB AT '66 FB MT '64 T34 (not running) '65 T1 (not running) '05 KIA Sorento SUV russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
