Books, Tucson, AZ, 1970 ISBN 0-912656-03-4 (excellent book, well written and researched) Note that on a type 3 this really has to be done in the course of an engine rebuild; it's NOT a simple add-on, but it is very beneficial. > Also, I have just purhcased a 71Square, manual, and I > have replaced the plugs, plug wires, injectors and I > still can't get her to start. There is seldom any reason to just replace plug wires and injectors in the course of normal maintenance. It sounds like you were just grasping at straws and hoping to stumble onto the cause of your problem. This is an EXTREMELY costly and wasteful way to troubleshoot. Take your old injectors and store them in kerosene. If you just leave them lying around they will be ruined with rust. They are probably fine. If that car still had the original, reusable right angle distributor end connectors on its SP wireset, those are better than anything you can buy today. Don't throw them away; they are irreplacable. Make sure that you didn't pull the vacuum hose off the pressure sensor; check both ends. Check for wires that you may have disturbed and pulled off. Do you have a timing light? If so, use it to determine whether you are getting spark and whether it is happening at the right time. If you have proper spark, do you hear the 2 relay clicks when you turn the key ON? If so, leave the key ON and go to the engine compartment. Press the throttle down. Do you hear a series of clicks from the injectors as the throttle is opening? -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
