You have to take the distributor out to remove the trigger contacts, but once they are out, they are easy to clean. DON'T file them. Just slide a clean piece of paper in between them and pull it thru the contacts. Push the contact open with your finger before you come to the end of the paper, or you risk pulling off some paper fibers which can get caught in the contacts. While everythings open, it's a good idea to clean off BOTH cams and put a thin smear of grease on each of them. It's good that you found this. I hope it fixes your problem. A little dirt in the contacts is one of those things that just happens every once in awhile. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
