When you are installing the screen, you peel the rubber over the inside edge of the flange by pulling the piece of cord parallel to the screen - so across the bottom you will be pulling the cord up the screen. As the cord lifts that part of the rubber and moves on as it pulls out of the groove, the rubber falls back inside of the flange. As you get to the corner, your direction of pull on the cord is still parallel to the glass, but now is towards the other top corner, then towards the other side, then the bottom corner etc. At no time do you pull towards the car interior, so the dash doesn't get in the way. While the cord is coming out, your helper keeps gentle pressure on the glass to ensure it stays in the right place. We really could do with a simple movie on installing the screen!
