You basically did a better job at what I did... I used a microwave oven
switch which is smaller and needed to put some Caps across the contacts to
keep them from burning. Sticking a .01 or .1 uF cap across your contacts
too would help give you that warm and fuzzy that it will hold out long term.

Want to speak in mechanical engineering terms? <G> The switch I used is rate at more than the two brake light bulbs are, so I am assuming I am OK.
