Re: Fwd: Re: [T3] Master cylinder
<x-flowed>DavidF=> ... has a dual-circuit MC in it now. Is this a much
=> cheaper part?
It is, but there's a strong chance of getting the wrong thing over the
counter. Most counter men have no idea about subtle distinctions between
Type 1 and Type 3 parts. Finding a direct replacement for yours will
involve accurately identifying what you have first.
Asking the list: how many dual-circuit Type 3 MCs ar there, and what are
their identifying features?
One more thing: you haven't mentioned why you're looking to replace the
MC. It's not at all uncommon that Type 3 brake problems are
misdiagnosed, by both amateurs and pros. Often very simple problems are
wrongly blamed on a bad MC. Before recommending that you spend your
hard-earned cash, I'd prefer to know that your diagnosis is solid. How
did you come to it?
