I get my parts from Gene Berg, but most places supply pretty much the same parts. I use a different filter base than the one they generally supply for type 3s but they've been happy to give me the one I want as part of their kit. I mount the filter base to the rear engine mount crossbar. On cars before '69, you can use a late case with a crossbar, just to provide this mount. If your car ever sees cold weather (below freezing) I recommend that you also invest in Berg's pressure relief pump cover. I can send you some photos, or put them up on Russ's site, if you want to see how I plumb things. If it's done right, there's NO need to modify the fan housing AT ALL. > I consider proper oil filtering to be a good investment, but I may have > been mislead by advertising. It's a very worthwhile addition, but it can only be done on a type 3 in the course of a complete engine rebuild. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
