Chris -

There are actually a good number of Type 3 folks in the Detroit area.  
I and Eric Hildebrandt are in Dearborn, Jonce Fanchers is out in 
Saline, Dan Zink and Neil Lynch are in the area too.  There are a few 
others too.  Bob Heydt is also just up the road near Port Huron.  Check 
out the not-a-vw-club link in my signature.  We are a local group of vw 
nuts that get together and hang out once in a while and go to shows 
together and stuff.

Let me know where you are at and I am more than willing to lend a hand 
getting another Type 3 on the road.
