If you have a good fuel pump and good injectors, the cost for restoring the FI
will be minimal. If you have to buy these parts new, then it can cost as much
as a new set of dual carbs.

The hoses on the old injectors can, and should, be replaced, along with all the
other fuel lines. Use 5/16" US-made standard fuel hose, not the 7mm hose that
most places sell for this application.

You will need to make sure that you have a compatable set of FI parts to work
with your '69. The injectors and pump from any year will work. The hoses and
wiring harness are the weak points of the FI system; other than that, the
system is extremely reliable.

There is lots of help here on FI.

If you stick with stock displacement, the FI is your cheapest, easiest, and
most drivable option. If you are building a much larger engine then you'll want
the carbs.

OE carbs from a '67 are the best bet for carbs. Larger aftermarket carbs are
available, but you'll spend a LOT of time working on them if you want them to
run right. Don't count on them being jetted right as they come to you in the
box. Only the OE carbs will come with a choke, so don't expect the aftermarket
carbs to be easy to start in cold weather. This is not a problem if you're only
driving it in the summer in Nebraska.

There will be lots of help available here on carbs, too, but keep in mind that
there are LOTS of different possible combinations of aftermarket parts, so you
may not find anyone who is familiar with your particular combination of carbs,
jets, distributor, and exhaust.

With both carbs and FI you will need to watch the breather plumbing. It's
different for '72-3 and if you mix parts unknowingly, then you'll blow oil out
the back of the case due to the lack of an effective breather.

Once you decide on what you want to do, we can help guide you.
