<x-flowed>Sorry the late reply, but the quickest way I've seen a mirror get removed was with an acetylene torch. It was waved for 30 or so senconds over the glued area that the mirror attached to at the glass. Then the mirror came off as eaily as a gentle tug.

sure was scary tuggin' that hard, though......but pulling as you described,
the mirror will take it without breaking.
