So, are you saying that exhaust valves DO sometimes stretch? If so, how much might one stretch? All I could see was that the adjusting screw was backing out and was no longer hitting anything. I screwed it back in slightly, just until it hit a bit, but by that time I must have backed it out 5-8 turns. I didn't look at it any closer than that, because it was getting dark, this person was about to drive the car home, and it was clear that there was nothing more I could do for him at that time. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
