and the leftmost mark was TDC, which is where you start from.

For 72-3 the marks changed to:

and the 2nd mark from the left is TDC.

The very best coil you can buy for your engine is an OG Bosch coil. 
Don't be misled into wasting money on some HP coil when the bone 
stock one will perform JUST as well and will probably outlast it 
several times over. All my engines have the original coils, and I've 
never seen a bad OG coil.

The new Bosch Blue coils seem to be particularly unreliable.
