Check the filler pipe O-ring, and you might also pull off the hose that goes to 
the vacuum modulator. If that hose is full of red oil, that may be your 
problem.

I don't remember if it can go on more than one way. If you have a choice, I'd 
tend to put it with the drain to the rear. If the gasket is cork, I'd oil it 
with ATF first. Then discard the split lock washers that came under those bolts 
and use the Belleville washers I sent you. Torque to the very light torque that 
the manual specifies.
