<x-flowed>VW did a very nice job on the interior of the 412, very nice.  The car 
feels wider and the center tunnel is almost non-existent i.e. more leg 
room ;-)  The trunk is spacious enough for two people to sit in while 
tinkering with the fuel tank sender.  I was not impressed with the tight 
engine bay...after being used to the open T3 ones the T4 looks and feels 
quite snug.  The dash was well buttoned up with storage space and the 
fuse box away from the driver but still easily accessible.  I guess you 
would call the interior more refined.  The automatic was VERY smooth 
with its shifting which is why I know I need to look to getting mine tuned.

As for the exterior of the car, well, they're hideous to look at...but 
maybe to the point that it could grow on you a little.  I convinced 
Brian to wash the car and hose out the years of mold/fungus growing 
within the nooks and crannies of the car (like under the roof luggage 
rack braces) and she cleaned up nicely.  Yes, the nose is waaaaay in the 
clouds but came down rather easily with me standing on the bumper.  Bri 
figured 3 bags of dog food would likely be enough to keep it down :-D

Now he just needs to fix the gas heater and paint it a real yellow...!
