I've often wondered about this, it seems if you're going to lower your car, you might not want to retain the stock travel, depending on the geometry it could leave you
hitting the ground when you hit bumps, or mashing your tire up into the wheel well.


I remember very clearly seeing a truck hit the ground like this. I put lowered spindles on a type 1 that was also lowered with adjusters, a long time ago, that was low enough that the extra travel was too much.

If your car's travel when it's maxed out leaves any part of your car closer than 2" to the ground, then 2" is too much of a drop spindle for that car.

At least with adjusting the front of the T3, you still have the stops. but even with this adjustment, you'll be putting more force on those stops.

It seems like lowering, really wants a way to compress the working distance of the torsion arm, for best results.
hmm. like putting a 50lb bag in the front of the car. [ la baja roja style. ]
