I don't remember who it was that was taking orders, but there is a place
in Riverside (I think it is Riverside) that makes type 3 dropped
spindles. There website is airkewld.com. Here is a link to the spindles
themselves. I hope this link actually works. They are a little pricey.

this reminds me,

I talked with this guy about his disc brake kits, because the PO has installed an empi kit for a type1 on my car, and the parking brake cables didn't really work out.

The disc brake caliper requires the parking brake cable to go further back and in a different direction, he hinted that his kit has cables that do work on a type 3, and that they are manufactured by VW of america, but he wouldn't tell me more, said it was his secret.

He said I would need to get an extension for the cable guide and have someone make custom cables, but his kit, looks like it has very similar placed calipers, as my empi kit.

Anyone have any thoughts as to what he might be using? I'm thinking perhaps it's a type 2 parking brake cable or something, but that seems like it might be too long.

I still have plenty of things to take care of. [ raise it, hydraulic clutch working, being important ones. ].
