<x-flowed>It's obvious you don't have a Bentley shop manual...and you need to get one if you plan on doing ANY work on the car yourself. No excuses.

The fuel pump is mounted on the front axle beam, on the back side. Yes, having the car up on a jack stand helps a lot unless you're VERY skinny ;-) Sounds like the mechanic doing your work isn't doing a very good job. Find another one, FAST!
