Great pictures from the invasion. My goal is to one day join in on one of these great adventures. I think I have finally found someone willing to help me put my fasty back together. Becoming disabled has really put a damper on things and my abilities to do the work myself. I was able to install a new door seal on the driver's side the other day. The fit was very tight closing the door after installing the rubber. These were new original seals that had been purchased at least 10 years ago by the original owner of the car and had gotten a little hard. It seems to be relaxing some now and allowing the door to close completely whereas when I first installed it the door did not want to close all the way. I thought I was going to have to take it off and find a replacement. Has anyone else found that too be the case when installing new door seals that had aged from sitting around for some time? Another question: Has anyone used the door seal kits from CIP? I was considering ordering one minus the door seals to put all new window seals, felt, and scrapers to complete the doors and was wondering how the quality of their kits were. Got Sophy running and timed with her newly detailed engine. It really helps to have the ignition wires in the right order AND indexed properly on the distributor cap. <G> I had them in the right order.....just off by 180 degrees. Doesn't run so well that way. <G> Now I just need to do the final wet sanding and buffing, throw on the trim and bumpers, and she will be ready for the road again. Will be great to be driving her again this summer.
