Re: Type 3 Passenger side mirror?

<x-flowed>My 1970 Square has the right side plastic plug intact! Now, if only I could get another plastic plug for the left side, I'm going to install chrome "Talbot" mirrors! I dont think I want to weld the original holes.

My 73 has mirrors on both sides, it was required here in Norway from 1971 on, along with side repeaters (side turn signals) and front seat safety belts.

To top it off, my brother had a 1971 1302 (Super Beetle) that was originally sold in Germany, and brought to Norway in 74. This car did *not* have the threaded nut in the right side door from the factory, as it was not required in Germany back then, so a regular nut was installed when it was brought to Norway. It was a real PITA to tighten the mirror on this Bug, as no tool would fit up in the tight area inside the door.

I would pull off the door panel and look.

I have seen various Squarebacks with a passenger side mirror but they always had a painted plastic plug there.
