[T3] Elwood is Alive!

Hey All.......good news.....Elwood is alive!!!
Boy, what a feeling to get this square running after sitting for at least
11 years!!!......the joy of hearing it start and run is pretty cool.....and
I got there with all your help..... Many, Many thanx to you all who have
helped!
As you last heard, I did not have a ground source going to the fuel pump
relay from the brain.....thanx to Jim and Russ, I did all the required
checks and everything seemed to be in good shape....except I still couldn't
get that darn ground source from the brain.....so I flipped the plastic
connector around (on the relay) so as to still provide the connection of
the blue wire, but not the ground from the brain.....then I provided a
ground so as to run the pump.......then I cranked it over and it started to
fire up.....1, 2, 3, then 4 cylinders firing!!....yee haaw!......I let it
warm up enough to get the ya-ya's out.....shut it down......disconnected my
ground to the relay, flipped the plug back and low and behold....everything
is working as it's suppoda!!!....When I turn the key, I now have the relay
fire for a second, then stop...then fire again when cranking and continue
to run the pump when running!
I guess it needed to just get those ya-ya's out!!!........I know, time will
tell if it's functioning for good as it's supposed to, but what a feeling
to have it running now!.........It seems to be running very rich, but I
also did not have time yet to set the timing....and I know for a '72 I have
to look up in Bentley as to how to time these motors.........
I still have that extra wire that I don't know where it belongs....it's a
white wire coming from the sheathing that carry's the single wire to the
head temp sensor and the 3 wires that go to the distributor
triggers....this wire is not connected to anything right now, but it has to
have a reason for being there.....it seems like it maybe went to a ground
spade close to where it ends, but I don't know....Is there anyone with a
'72 that can look and see where this wire belongs??

Again, many thanx for your help all!!!
