Can I ask. How accurate can one get with this. Whenever I add petrol
(gasoline) I never fill up, always just add 20 litres or so. When I write
down the odometer reading I take note of the level of the petrol gauge, but
it would be really hard to really pinpoint the exact location of the petrol
gauge needle since there are only 4 marks and two of those are full and
empty. How do folks do it in the list?

Well, I just fill up every time and right down the mileage, $/gal, and number of gallons. Then go calculate the mpg. I keep it all in my PDA. I have records for Sophy from 10/2002 til now. I had it from her first tank full after I got it back on the road in February 2002, but lost the early data, including the data from the trip to Parma, in a PDA crash. 8^(

Anyway, I average around 24 mpg, with a low of 15.4 and a high of 28.8 for the data that have. I seem to remember one tank full on the trip to Parma with 32 mpg or so. Stock in my head because it was better than Keith's best with his FI vs Sophy's dual carbs. I think we had pretty good tail winds and some long downhill stretches on the tank.

One of these days it would be interesting to plot out the data and see what it shows. I will have to see if I can import it into Excel from the PDA. I do it for all of my cars. It is a good indicator if somehting is going on with the car. Often before other symptoms show up.
