Hi,

I may chime in here.  The Samba also has wiring diagrams, have you looked at
them? <http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/wiringt3.php>

Also, I have dual carbs in my notch, the heater elements get the power from
the coil, but at this point I am not 100% sur which connector on the coil.
