I don't know that much about brakes, let alone vw brake standards. But I believe the "rpv" is mainly used on disc brake applications and they keep fluid in the line so the pad floats closer to the disc. Something like that. You can buy after market ones from summit racing for like $10 a piece. I think they use a 10 psi on disc and you can get them in a 2 psi for drums. I don't really know how important or necessary these are.
