22" is what I used for mine for RF (and that matches what came off it), but
I'm quite sure a 20" one would work if that's all your FLAPS has available.
The LF needs to be at least 10" but that's pretty tight (9.5" was just
barely too short). I used a 12" line there, which was a bit of a pain
because it was slightly long.
I have a left hand drive, 1971 Fasty, but built in February - the
brake-switch changes must have happened after that, because my LF line is
still on the left side of the MC.
As for lines needing to be replaced, I agree with Jim A. that the lines
themselves are unlikely to fail - mine looked absolutely safe still. The
problem that I had was with the ends getting all rusted up.
So even if the lines are fine, I was worried that the rusted ends would
cause a lot of trouble when you need to replace a hose or caliper/cylinder.
